The local scan came back negative.

This provoked a gleeful rubbing of hands and a swift disengagement of docking controls. Out I floated, and out I warped straight to the nearest asteroid belt. Upon arrival, I spot two Serpentis Megathrons with only minimal frigate support. This provokes further gleeful hand rubbing and the mental sound projection of champagne bottles being opened. I push my Vexor at the enemy, getting in close around the Battleship and unleashing a wave of Hobgoblins to deal with the irksome frigate “support”. Within a few seconds they have popped into a shower of twisted metal and I recall my Hobgoblins and unleash my hybrid group of Ogres, Hammerheads and a single Hobgoblin to go to work on the Battleship. The sound of the champagne in my mind had now reached the bubbling stage, “glug glug glugging” its way into a glass.

I blink. Not to worry..not to worry, it’s just one bogie and I’m almost done here, I’ll finish the Battleship off and…

Taranis exits warp 15km from my position.

Crap…

The champagne glass is falling…falling. I’m scrambling for a warp.

Six in local. I’m scrambled.

The champagne glass shatters on the floor. My hands are clasped to my face as my pod warps away from the bitter wreckage of my cruiser, the drones drift aimlessly away from the Serpentis bastard who was so close to buying the farm that he had been boasting to all his friends about what he was going to do with the place, particularly the spacious barn area…

“Good fight”, I venture in Local. “Back to the drawing board…”, I say to myself…

Yes folks! I have been spending my EVE time over in 0.0! My goal: to raise my security status a little! It’s been quite a while since I was able to play the game but the return I have been yearning for has finally come about and I’m finally able to dedicate some time to gaming (and blogging!).

So whilst my first venture out of station ended in disaster, I have since had much more luck with my ratting quest. I managed to scrape together a Vexor fit that seems to work, though I had my doubts…but the available modules were few and far between. Let’s just say it’s shield tanked, with a Nos on it and leave it there. So, since my rather inglorious re-induction to PvP in 0.0 I’ve roamed around the various nearby systems, popping battleships here and there and in all honesty…having a great time doing it! I thought the experience of raising my sec status would be draining, dull and downright soul destroying but I have been pleasantly slapped in the face (yes, you read that right). I have been hunted, watched, followed and smacked but I live on and despite being a pauper these days, I am content.

So now…my goals are simple. Raise the ol’ sec status to around -4.9…and join a good buddy of mine back in the Faction Wars, old school style! Oh and…did somebody mention something about blogging and tweeting and things of that nature? They might well have done.

P.S – Hi again everyone!!!!
