In the beginning…there was nothing. An hour of editing later…there was life. So begins the blog.

Hello everyone and welcome to my humble abode. Well, I can’t really describe it as an abode I guess…I do not “dwell” here, nor do I indeed physically inhabit this space but I’m sure you recieved and appreciated my point. It’s the thought that counts after all!

This is indeed the beginning of an EVE Online blog, a metaphysical place to post my ponderings/musings/thoughts/rants/raves/other things concerning the New Eden galaxy, its inhabitants, objects and indeed anything related to it.

I’m new to blogging I guess, but not new to writing. It’s a passion of mine and one which I hope will flourish a little more via this medium. Also, there’s so much going on in EVE that it simply demands some sort of log book/journal/record even if its only for me to keep track of events and make sense of them. Hindsight is even better if you have a recorded experience somewhere to keep coming back to. The joys of information technology abound!

A little bit of AOB then, light admin if you will. The blog is new (of course) so it will be under development as I come to grasp the tools available to me. Being frank…If I can grasp EVE Online (maybe not entirely) then I’m sure I can conquer the “Blogosphere” and get to grips with it.

A little about me and my beloved character…

The name’s Tom, going by the name “YoMma” in just about every game I play. I’m very partial to video games and in particular EVE Online. I’m also a competitve gamer, currently representing Packard Bell UK as part of Team Packard Bell. I have competition experience in Call of Duty 2 and 4, Counterstrike: Source, Crysis, Unreal Tournament 2003, Battlefield 2142 and STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. I recently graduated from the University of Liverpool in…(you guessed it) Liverpool, England. I’m 21 years old and I enjoy gaming, reading, writing and spending time with people whom I both tolerate and enjoy tolerating. I have recently been accepted as a Game Correspondent over at MMORPG.com for EVE Online and will hopefully be getting some articles published there for others to enjoy.

YoMma within EVE is no 5 year vet. He was created in January 2008 and since then has developed into the focus of my online time. He has a nous for combat but can also help out his buddies in a mining barge or industrial just as an extra source of income. I’m not a Griefer, but nor am I a whiner – I understand that griefing has its uses and indeed its own place within EVE. I’ve been playing for the best part of a year now and have enjoyed every second. I would now like to share my experiences with myself…or indeed anyone who is interested in my insights whatever they may be…or indeed if there are any “insights” at all!

I will end this post with an image that I quite like. Ta ta…
